Is this a duplication of services already available?
Our organization is designed to partner with the excellent services already available in our community, not to duplicate them. The benefit is that you have simple access to help, with only one phone number to call for whatever you need. Additionally, we'll help you navigate the sometimes confusing variety of services that are available to find exactly what you need.
If I have an emergency, how can you help?
If it's a medical emergency, you should call 911 or your physician. But if it's something you need quickly at home - for example, if you need help with your home arrangements when you're in the hospital - then call the Director of West of Hartford@Home to explain your needs, and we'll get you what
you need.
Can I sign up my parent(s) to become members?
Yes, it would be a wonderful gift of peace of mind for you and your parent(s) if they could call West of Hartford@Home when they need help.
Can you notify me if my parents have any problems?
We can notify you if you're listed as an emergency contact for your parents.
If I'm not ready for any of the services now, why should I join?
We often hear prospective members over 50 say I don't need your services yet, but I'll join when I do need them. Keep me on your mailing list.
Building a lasting institution requires residents to come together now, in advance of unpredictable needs, to ensure the stability and endurance of this membership organization.
